Little Rant…And Other Stuff….

Everyone that reads this knows what a complete whore for John Cusack I am. With that said, he decided to publish a iTunes celebrity playlist to promote his new movie 1408. His idea, …a playlist made out of music for bad rooms….” I’m down with that. A creative spin on the playlist idea. After all he seems to love music on a level equal to that of my own. “…music to mad to or mad for….” I’m down with that too. “…Some get you in and out of trouble…” I know all too well about music getting me out of trouble, mentally that is. He fills his list with tunes from Regina Spektor and Gnarls Barkley, to Less McCann, Tom Waits, and Kris Kristofferson. Then, I see Johnny Cash, and this kids is where the rant comes in. Of all the fucking Cash songs to pick, he picks Hurt. It’s not even a original Johnny Cash song. I won’t go into the fact that the song was over played, and it could be the only taste most people will get of this mans amazing music. My point is that there are about a bazillion Johnny Cash songs that you should choose for your list about getting into or out of trouble. My pick, if I only get one to put on my list of songs that fall into the catagory that Mr. Cusack has put forth, it would have to be Home of the Blues. Listen to it if you haven’t already heard it and I hope you will understand.

“…come along with me, misery loves company. You’re welcome at the home of the blues.”

Thank you Johnny.

I guess John Cusack is not as versed in Cash as he claims. Or it could just be idle boasting on my part.

In happier news. This group photo was taken this past Sunday. We had a marvelous time with the Hitts. A van ride, a comic book convention. FOOD! Laughter! Sometimes I can be happy.

Caitlyn is really close to walking, Making word “sounds” more and more. Plenty of laughter from her as well.

We are close to HHI time. Sand, Sun, and more to the point, Doing Nothing. I can’t wait to sit at the pool with the headphones and iPod on shuffle and planning on doing jack shit.

Well it’s time to change out of my super hero garb and into my disguise as James Fritz.

Thanks for tuning in.
