Archive for January, 2009

Well. Here we are. Back to the old home town. We are here for my Grandfathers 80th Birthday. As I have mentioned before this is my first time back home in 2 years. My wife asked me recently if I missed it here. I told her that I missed being near my family. I don’t miss “here”. It’s going to be great fun to sit and catch up with everyone. I think by the time I get this published the party will be over. I’m writing this in bed on my iPod in my wife’s parents basement. I find it odd that my family, Mom and Dad. Emily and Sam. Are now included in the group that has to make the multi-state trip to make it to family functions. I thought I would live my entire life in SWPA. I guess life is never as you think it is going to be. In my mind eye I think that I have to go to high school on Monday. It’s hard for me to beleive that my sister is going to grad school, or that my oldest cousin, whom I remember holding as a baby, is now a teacher. To me she is still “Booger”.

It took me ages to realize that there is nothing more important on this giant ball of mud than my family. I hope that Caitlyn understands it quicker than I did. I will do everything in my power to make sure the physical distance between her and her family is never a factor.

Goodnight All

The following is a joke sent to me in an email, pardon the spacing and punctuation eff ups, it was forwarded and had a bunch of “>” in it!

John Elway, after living a full life, died. When he got to heaven, God was showing him around.  They came to a modest little house with a faded Broncos flag in the  window.  “This house is yours for eternity, John,” said God. “This is very special; not everyone gets a house up here.”  John felt special, indeed, and walked up to his house. On his way up the porch, he noticed another house just around the corner. It was a 3-story mansion with a Black and Gold sidewalk, a 50 foot tall flagpole with an enormous Steeler logo flag, and in every window, a Terrible towel . John looked at God and said “God, I’m not trying to be ungrateful, but I have a question. I was an all-pro QB, I won 2 Super Bowls, and I even went to the Hall of Fame.” God said “So what’s your point, John?” “Well, why does Terry Bradshaw get a better house than I?” God chuckled, and said “John, that’s not Terry’s house; it’s mine.

I sure as hell hope they are the 1st 6 time Super Bowl Champions!

One Mo Day

One of the joys of a road trip is filling the iPod with music. So. Today I will pull all the music off this device and refill it. It make the trip much easier when you have your own music to listen to.

We are heading to PA for my Grandfathers birthday. This is also my first time back to PA in almost 2 years. Working full time in retail can put a hamper on taking weekends off.

Bonus part of the weekend it being able to watch the Steelers in the Super Bowl in Pittsburgh.

Let’s hope the weather cooperates while we are on the road.

I’ll Take A Dozen

Obama Action

I think this is quite possibly the coolest thing I have seen in a long time. It is by far better than the lame fighter pilot G.W. figure that is out there.  I hope the guys at Robot Chicken get their hands on one and put on a battle between Bush and Obama.  I can see it now in all its stop action glory!

Wordpress iPhone/iPod Touch App

This is a test of the WordPress app for the iPhone/iPod Touch. This seals it. I’m staying here.

Bye Blogger!

Here is a pic of the theme I am using on my iPod Touch.

Testing Out Wordpress.

I am thinking of moving my blog from Blogger to WordPress.  I have imported my blog into this one to test it out and to see what it looks like a little more full.  I like it so far.  I am going to work on finding out if I can post here and have it feed my blogger address.  I may just close the blogger address all together. I also will be working on a custom header image.  I have to boot over to my Windows Vista partition to use Photoshop. I can’t get that to run on the Windows 7 Beta build.  Anywho, stay tuned.  I think this may be my new home.

Caitlyn In The Snow!, originally uploaded by idrvfast.

Look at her red nose. Not much of a cold weather girl. She did have fun though. I had fun too. More pics to follow.
