Been A Long Time Since I Rock And Roll’d

It has been forever since I have posted here. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving. I am hungry already.

There isn’t much going on round these parts. We are all getting over a cold. Working, coping, surviving.

Thought I would break the silence here with a simple post, this time no promises of lots of posting.

I’ll save that for a new years resolution I am not going to keep.

Happy Holidays to All!

Things…

It’s been quite a while since I have had some thing to post here, to tell the truth I don’t have much to say right now.  I just felt the need to put something down here other than lists and videos from YouTube.

I guess I can talk about some of the things that are going on here/with us in NC.  I am still a part time Best Buy associate, and as of the 15th of this month I will be a Geek Squad agent.  That should be very interesting.  Before anyone asks, no I don’t get to drive the Bug.  I tried for that position ages ago and failed all but the Apple portion of the test.  Nope, I will be the smiling face you see behind the counter at your Best Buy’s GS.

I finally moved into the HDTV world with the purchase of a 32″ Toshiba LCD.  Gonna watch last weeks Battlestar in HD tonight.  This will be the first time seeing the show in HD.  Hopefully it is a Boomer laden episode because she is HAWT!  The Xbox 360 looks GREAT on it!

From the Dad told you so file, I have given Joss Wheadon a chance and I am watching Dollhouse.  It’s pretty “meh” so far, and since we are watching last weeks episode tonight, if it isn’t good I will be removing it from the DVR.  I have been sucked into Batman The Brave and The Bold as well. I wish we got Cartoon Network HD so I could enjoy it that way.  Excellent series using old villians and partnering Batman with various heros from the DC’verse.

Been playing Call of Duty almost nightly.  Looking forward to the new maps this month, and from what they say the new Modern Warfare 2 will hit this holiday season!  I guess I need to get cracking and finish the single player missions in World at War.

Well I guess thats about it.  Thanks for stopping by.

What It Is I Can’t Say!

I hate having a good think to talk about but not being able to say anything about it for fear of reprisal. I know it doesn’t sound like me, but as I don’t know all who tune in here I can’t let the cat out of the bag until things are certain, and in my favor. So, the world may never know.

I started watching Firefly. I know I’m 6 years behind. I am actually enjoying it. I guess it is possible to enjoy some of the creations of a person you can’t stand.

Saw The Black Crowes on Saturday. Excellent show! Chris Robinson was a lot less high this time and therefore they were on fire! Interesting side note, Chris was wearing the same pants he was wearing the last time I saw them live. Anywho, they had 2 jam sessions in the show both well over 10 mins each! They did not play Hard To Handle. They did cover Bob Dylans “Girl From The North Country”. If you are presented with a cahance to see them live, give it no thought, just go. You’ll thank me.

We are approaching the worst time of the year for retail employees. The mad Xmas rush. Every year I hope I make it out intact. And every year I hope it’s my last time in the trenches. Oh well.

New Call of Duty this week. So, that’s how I will be venting. Can’t wait.

Later all. Thanks for reading.

Fucking Amazing!

Pardon my language. But it is true! Make your shit go to 11 for this one!

YEAH!

Headache!

Here we are. I have a headache.

Today decides who takes the idiots place in the palace. I don’t vote. There are various reasons why. The most important being that I don’t agree with the electoral college system. Another reason being, that neither of the canadates have proven to me that they deserve my vote. McCain is a smear campaiging asshole. I don’t dislike Obama, and I do feel he would be the lesser of the 2 evils, he just hasn’t proven to me that he can be the most powerful man in the world. He is an amazing speaker, and a very powerful motivator as a result. That’s it in a nutshell. I am just looking forward to not having to see the ads on TV. I’m sick of the attacking that’s going on. Remember folks these are the people you are trusting to make decisions for you, to make your life better. It has turned into grade school name calling. It makes me tired.

Am I wrong for thinking this way? Am I wrong for nor voting? Possibly. But that’s what makes this country great. I have the freedom to not do what Kayne and Puffy told me to do.

That’s it this time. Later.

MTV Finally Does Something Great!

MTV Has put the bulk of their library online for people to view. I remember when MTV played videos. This is my first installment of my favorite all time videos!

OK Go – Here It Goes Again:
Quite possibly my all time favorite video! The song and band are killer too!

Weezer – Keep Fishin’:
Weezer always has the best videos. This one has Muppets, so it makes it 10x cooler!

Fat Boy Slim – Weapon of Choice:
Walken, ’nuff said!

Van Halen – Hot For Teacher:
“I don’t feel tardy.”

Enjoy…

Hmmmm…

Rolling Stone changed the physical format of it’s magazine. That’s bold. I remember it being the same shape for as long as I can remember.

I haven’t posted about the music I am listening to in quite a while. Let me take a moment to do so.

1) Black Stone Cherry.
This is a pandora.com find. I describe them as southern heavy metal. Melodic but very powerful. Crushing guitars and the lead singer has a very powerful and distinct voice. I look forward to hearing more from them.

2) Metallica.
You all know my history with this band. After St. Anger and couples therapy I thought all was lost. Then one day I was actually listening to radio instead of a CD. They played The Day That Never Comes. I bought the album on CD on release day. That hasn’t happened in years. Let’s hope that they continue down this path!

3) Extreme.
Another of my all time favorites. The new album is excellent I bought of digitally on release day. Nuno continues to make the case for being one of if not the most underrated musicians of all time.

I am posting this from my iPod, listening to Black Stone Cherry. I love technology. I have so much power in the palm of my hand. 11 years ago my computer had 6gb of storage. Now I carry my favorite songs around on 8gb in my pocket. Things have changed. I was reminded of mix tapes by a co-worker. I remember the care it took to create one. Now you just stuff a ton of music on a device and hit shuffle and pray. Interesting.

That is all for now.
